What is the meaning of: "The Hadith was reported by Al-Bukhari," or "Al-Bukhari did not report it"?

If they say: "Narrated by Al-Bukhari," what is meant is that it is in his Sahih, and it is absolutely authentic. However, if it is in other than his Sahih, a qualification must be made, such as "Al-Adab Al-Mufrad."

The difference between them is: 1. The Musnad in Sahih Al-Bukhari: Absolutely authentic. 2. The Mu'allaq in Sahih Al-Bukhari: If it is in a decisive form, it is authentic up to the one to whom Al-Bukhari attributed it according to the majority of scholars. 3. What he narrated in other than his Sahih: This does not necessitate authenticity, as Al-Bukhari only stipulated authenticity in his Sahih.

The phrase "Al-Bukhari did not transmit it" usually means that it is not in his Sahih, even if he narrated it in his other books.
