Is it permissible for a prayer to be led by a pre-pubescent boy when adult men are present?

The call to prayer (iqamah) recited by a discerning child is not valid. However, concerning a discerning child, scholars have differed regarding the validity of his iqamah, presenting three views: absolute invalidity, validity if he is discerning and intelligent, or dislike (karahah). It is more preferable to avoid this to steer clear of the disagreement.
