Is a person held accountable for self-talk that includes mockery of others, such as saying "I am tall and so-and-so is short," as long as it was not uttered verbally?

It is forbidden to describe a woman as short in a mocking way, and this is considered prohibited backbiting (gheebah), due to Allah’s saying: ﴿O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people﴾, and due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Your mentioning about your brother that which he dislikes." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when she described Safiyyah as "short": "You have uttered a word which, if it were mixed with the water of the sea, it would spoil it." As for inner thoughts without speaking, they are not considered mockery or backbiting, because Allah has forgiven the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) for what they think to themselves, as long as they do not speak of it or act upon it.
