Is a wife who has been divorced once, and who was touched with the intention of reconciliation during her waiting period after a conversation between them, still married to her husband?

There are disagreements among scholars regarding whether touching one's wife with desire constitutes a raj'ah (revocation of divorce). Some, like Ath-Thawri and the People of Opinion (Ahl Ar-Ra'y), consider it a raj'ah, while others do not.

As for the statement, "I will take you back," it is merely a promise or an intention, and raj'ah is not effected by it.

The more cautious approach is to revoke the divorce explicitly by saying, "I have taken you back," or "I have taken my wife back," or similar phrases, accompanied by the testimony of two witnesses to the raj'ah.
