What the wife did by leaving and traveling without her husband's consent is considered an act of defiance (nushooz), and the husband is not obligated to divorce her. The wife must obey her husband and not leave except with his permission. It is not permissible for her to seek divorce without harm. Furthermore, the wife's father must forbid her from evil and command her to do good. "The most hated of permissible things to Allah is divorce," a narrated by Abu Dawud.
