What is the ruling on a father preventing his children from going to the mosque as a form of discipline?

Preventing children from praying in the mosque under the pretext of discipline is not wise. Discipline aims to reform the child and instill obedience and good manners, not to corrupt them by preventing them from praying in the mosque. The responsibility of parents includes raising children and teaching them matters of their religion and worldly affairs. The father should fear Allah and accustom his children to praying in the mosque from an early age.
