Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on a husband preventing his wife from visiting her family. The preponderant opinion is that the husband must permit his wife to visit her family to the customary extent, unless there is harm. It is not permissible for her to exceed this without his consent.
If the wife insists on disobeying and being disobedient, then she is considered nashiz (rebellious).
We advise wisdom and diligence to overcome disagreements and preserve the family, and to prevent Satan from causing separation between the spouses.
