ما مدى صحة حديث عائشة الذي يرويه الصوفيون بخصوص فتح نافذة في قبر الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم لنزول المطر؟

The hadith narrated from 'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, regarding the opening of a skylight from the Prophet's grave, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, for seeking rain thereby, is weak and cannot be used as a proof for three reasons:

1. One of its narrators, Sa'id ibn Zayd, is weak. Al-Hafiz said about him: "Trustworthy but has delusions," and Al-Dhahabi mentioned him in "Al-Mizan," and Yahya ibn Sa'id and others deemed him weak. 2. It is mawquf (stopped) at 'A'ishah and not marfu' (raised) to the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. If it were authentic, it would be an individual ijtihad (independent judgment). 3. One of its narrators, Abu Al-Nu'man (Muhammad ibn Al-Fadl), suffered from اختلاط (confusion/memory loss) at the end of his life, and it is not known whether Al-Darimi heard from him before or after his اختلاط, which renders it unacceptable.

Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah denied the authenticity of this report, affirming that the Prophet's chamber did not have a skylight during 'A'ishah's lifetime, and that the skylight was created later.

Furthermore, this report—even if authentic—does not indicate the permissibility of seeking help from the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, after his death. The Companions did not seek help from him at his grave; rather, 'Umar sought rain through the supplication of Al-'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him.
