What is meant by "light" (النور) in the Almighty's saying: (As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are evil ones, who lead them forth from light into depths of darkness)?

Allah is the Protector, Helper, and Granter of success to the believers. He brings them out of the darkness of shirk (polytheism), sins, and innovations into the light of Tawhid (monotheism), truth, and faith, through His Messengers and Books. As for the disbelievers, their protectors are the Taghut (false deities/tyrants), who lead them out of the light of Tawhid into the darkness of shirk, ignorance, sins, and innovations. The "light" in the verse refers to Tawhid, faith, and guidance, while "darkness" refers to shirk, sins, and innovations.
