What are the things that are not recommended to say, as opposed to the things that are recommended to say?

Matters that are feared to cause envy or harm should be kept secret, as Jacob did with Joseph (peace be upon them both) concerning his vision. Similarly, it is recommended to keep silent in order to achieve one's needs, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Seek assistance in fulfilling your needs through secrecy, for every possessor of a blessing is envied." However, if nothing of the sort is feared, then it is good to speak of blessings in gratitude to Allah, without boasting, for Allah Almighty says: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]."
