Is concealing blessings out of fear of envy contrary to His, the Almighty's, saying: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]"?

The fundamental principle is that a Muslim should speak about the blessings Allah has bestowed upon him as a form of gratitude and obedience, not out of pride or arrogance. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]" (Quran 93:11). This applies generally to the entire Ummah. Speaking about Allah's blessings is a form of gratitude, and neglecting to do so is a form of ingratitude. However, if a Muslim fears the evil eye or envy, he is permitted to conceal the blessing, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "The evil eye is real," and the Almighty's saying: "And from the evil of an envier when he envies" (Quran 113:5). This is also exemplified by Jacob (peace be upon him) with his sons: "He said, 'O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they plot against you a plot'" (Quran 12:5).
