What is the ruling on the continuation of a relationship between a young man and a young woman, brought together by study and chaste love, while both are keen on obedience, and the parents are aware of their sincere intention to marry in the future?

We praise Allah who guided you to cease this forbidden relationship. Indeed, establishing relationships between men and women, and exchanging messages and communications, are clear abominations that encompass a multitude of sins and misdeeds, such as the heart becoming attached and preoccupied, being captivated by words and voices, and longing to meet. The Sharia has forbidden this because it is a gateway to temptation, in fulfillment of His saying, the Most High: (O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan). Satan lures the righteous servant through glances, words, and attachment. The Sharia has forbidden looking at women, shaking their hands, being in seclusion with them, and prohibited women from speaking in a soft, alluring manner; this is to close the door to temptation, purify souls, and restrict pleasures to what is permissible.

Therefore, it is not permissible for you two to continue this relationship, and you must cease communications and correspondence. As for marriage, it is the best remedy for you if its conditions are met, for Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (We have not seen for two who love each other anything like marriage).
