Will Allah hold accountable the young man who caused psychological and intellectual harm to the girl after he deluded her with marriage then abandoned her and married her friend, despite her repentance and return to Allah, and is his action considered abstinence from the forbidden, or does it necessitate punishment for emotional harm?

We congratulate you on repenting from the sinful relationship, and we ask Allah to accept your repentance and forgive your sin. Do not grieve over not marrying this young man, for Allah says: "And it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you." Seek help from trustworthy individuals to find a righteous husband. There is no sin upon the young man for marrying someone else, as the relationship occurred by your choice. Ease your mind and dismiss these thoughts. It is possible that the young man did not intend to harm you by proposing to the girl.
