Will Allah Almighty hold a girl suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder accountable for her involuntary insults against Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)? And is this sin considered one of the rights of people that is not dropped except by retribution? And what can she do to get rid of these obsessions and her despair of Allah's mercy?

It appears from the question that the questioner is not of sound mind, and what she did may be the result of jinn possession or severe obsessive thoughts that caused her to lose control of her mind. Therefore, she is not to be held accountable for what she did while in this state, and suicide is impermissible for her.

If she did so while being aware, she would be held accountable for it, but if she repents, Allah will accept her repentance; as Allah Almighty says: {Say to those who disbelieved, if they cease, what has passed will be forgiven them...}.

Many jurists have held that the repentance of one who reviles the Prophet (peace be upon him) is accepted, and this was preferred by the two Sheikhs, Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaymeen.

The questioner should strive to repel obsessive thoughts and increase her good deeds. We advise her to consult a psychiatrist or a trustworthy ruqyah practitioner.
