Is it permissible to pray for wealth and money without effort, even if the one praying is not in material need?

Islam encourages work, production, and lawful earnings. A Muslim is required to utilize means without this contradicting reliance on Allah. There is no objection to striving for wealth and a dignified life through legitimate means, including supplication. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed for wealth for his companions. True richness is the richness of the soul, not an abundance of money, and there is no harm in a Muslim asking his Lord for lawful money.
