What is the grading of the Hadith: "Traders are the wicked except for he who feared Allah, was righteous, and spoke truthfully"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The aforementioned Hadith: Narrated by Isma'il ibn Ubayd ibn Rifa'ah, from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with them both), that he went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to the Musalla (prayer area). He saw people engaged in trade, so he said, "O company of merchants!" They responded to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and raised their necks and gazes towards him. He then said, "Indeed, merchants will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection as wicked sinners, except for those who fear Allah, are benevolent, and are truthful." Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a good, sound Hadith. Also narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih and Al-Hakim, who said its chain of narration is sound.
