Is it permissible to marry a righteous man whose creed differs from the methodology of the People of the Sunnah and the Community (Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah)?

Innovation (Bid‘ah) is of two types: that which constitutes disbelief (mukaffirah) and that which does not (ghayr mukaffirah). The innovation that constitutes disbelief includes: the saying that the Quran is created, denying Allah’s attributes, claiming the apostasy of the Companions, distorting the Quran, attributing knowledge of the unseen to saints, slandering Abu Bakr and ‘Aisha, and believing that Allah indwells His creation. It is not permissible to pray behind someone who has fallen into an innovation that constitutes disbelief, nor is it permissible for a Sunni Muslim man to marry him, nor for a man to marry a woman who commits such acts unless she repents. As for innovations that do not constitute disbelief, such as committing to fasting the middle of Sha‘ban, celebrating the Mawlid as an Eid, reciting the Quran before the Adhan, and performing Dhikr with specific numbers and postures, it is permissible to pray behind and marry someone who commits them, although someone else would be preferable if available.
