Does the divorce of an angry man who has taken stimulating pills that increase nervousness count, if the husband is not himself, knowing that the wife is still with him and they have children?

If a husband utters a divorce while he has lost his mind, his divorce is not effective. However, if he is aware, his divorce is effective:

- Before consummation or khalwa (private seclusion): The divorce is irrevocable (bain), and the marriage contract must be renewed, by the consensus of scholars.

- After a valid khalwa (in which sexual intercourse could normally occur): The majority of scholars treat it as equivalent to consummation. Reconciling (raj'ah) is valid by word or sexual intercourse before the 'iddah (waiting period) expires, without the need to renew the contract.
