Is linking good deeds, such as charity and night prayers, to the alleviation of worldly distress considered to be from the category of desiring the worldly life and its adornments, as stated in the verse: "Whoever desires the worldly life and its adornment - We will fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. Those are the ones for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire. And what they did therein has become worthless, and what they used to do is futile"? And is this fear of the non-acceptance of deeds justified, or is it merely a whisper [from Satan]?

What you are doing by way of seeking intercession through righteous deeds is legislated and permissible, and it does not contradict sincerity in worship. Therefore, you must abandon these whispers so that they do not corrupt your religion and your worldly life.
