The question

What is the interpretation of losing the blessing of time, constant delays in academic specialization and marriage, repeated failure to achieve goals, and the inability to maintain wudu and prayer due to irritable bowel syndrome, along with a constant feeling of boredom? Is this related to a previous relationship with a young man from among the people of innovation (Ahl al-Bid'a)? And does this matter require medical treatment or ruqyah?

The answer

Advice for a woman whose marriage is delayed and who complains of intrusive thoughts during prayer:

First: Increase in supplication (Du'a).

Second: The reason people may be disinclined to propose to her might be her prior rejection of suitors, or it could be a divine decree from Allah. She should strive to take the necessary means to get married.

Third: Do not dwell on matters that do not concern her, such as the situation of a man with another woman.

Fourth: Do not accept marriage from a man whose religiosity and character are unknown.

Fifth: Regarding prayer, if the invalidation of ablution (wudu') or the nullification of prayer is merely an illusion, then do not pay attention to these doubts. If it is a reality, then it is necessary to repeat the ablution and the prayer. If it is a case of urinary incontinence or continuous release of wind, then the person suffering from incontinence should perform ablution after the prayer time begins and pray, and what exits does not harm her, unless she knows that it will stop for a period during which she can perform ablution and pray before the time expires.

Sixth: Beware of intrusive thoughts (waswasa) that may lead to disliking prayer and delaying it beyond its prescribed time, which is forbidden.

Seventh: These trials might be merely a test from Allah, or due to the evil eye or magic. Their cure lies in legal , reciting the Qur'an, and performing adhkar (remembrances).

Eighth: Consult doctors for the possibility of physical or psychological illnesses.
