What is the relationship between the soul, the mind, and the brain? Does the soul evolve as a human grows, or does it remain as it is? How is perception formed? What is the explanation for the elderly losing skills and intuitions? Does this mean that the brain is the abode of the soul?
The essence, nature, and dwelling place of the soul are unseen matters that humans cannot comprehend. Allah Almighty says: "And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, 'The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And you have not been given of knowledge except a little.'" As for the heart, it is the commander of the body; if it is sound, the entire body becomes sound, and through it, a person comprehends, as in the : "Indeed, there is a piece of flesh in the body, if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Indeed, it is the heart." The questioner is advised to focus on questions related to acts of worship instead of questions upon which the matters of religion do not depend.
