How do I know that I am content with Allah during a trial?

The sign of a servant's contentment with Allah is their submission to His decree and their certainty that whatever befalls them and whatever misses them is preordained, and that Allah is Wise, managing affairs with wisdom. He decrees nothing for the believer but good. The servant should entrust all their affairs to Allah and trust in His management without discontent or panic, in accordance with His (the Almighty's) saying: "No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things."
