Is hunting considered permissible if the game is found dead with ants on it after the hunter left it to pursue another?

If game dies by a trap, snare, or net, it is carrion forbidden to eat, whether the hunter was negligent or not. However, if it was hunted by a predatory animal or a rifle, and the hunter was negligent in slaughtering it until he found it dead, scholars have differed: the Hanbalis consider it permissible to eat unless there is a trace of something other than the predatory animal. The majority of scholars, however, believe that negligence in seeking it out prevents its consumption, and this is the more apparent and cautious view. So, whoever leaves his game for another hunt, then returns to it and finds it dead, should not eat it.
