Is it permissible to say: "O Allah, grant me justice"?

If the intention behind "Allahumma Anṣifnī" (O Allah, do me justice / give me redress) is for Allah to grant victory to the supplicant over those among His creatures who have wronged him, then the phrase is correct. In this context, "inṣāf" (justice/redress) means fairness and equity. Al-Ghazali mentioned that "Al-Muqsiṭ" (the Equitable) is the One who grants redress to the wronged against the wrongdoer. Sheikh Al-Barrak permitted the supplication "Allahumma Anṣifnī minhu" (O Allah, do me justice against him) as a plea for the wronged to be victorious. However, if the intention is for Allah to do justice to the supplicant from His exalted self, then this is abhorrent and implies attributing injustice to Allah, exalted be He far above that. Indeed, verses and hadiths have stipulated that Allah wrongs no one.
