Firstly, it is permissible to watch beneficial documentaries, as long as they do not contain impermissible elements according to Islamic law or if such elements can be bypassed. It is preferable to limit oneself to channels that have been purified (of such content). One must avoid addiction to them and preserve time.

Secondly, it is not permissible to intentionally listen to the mention of obscenities in documentaries, because it constitutes publicizing sin, which Islam has prohibited, unless there is a legitimate necessity and one is safe from temptation.

Thirdly, narratives that contain impermissible elements according to Islamic law fall under the same ruling as documentaries, as explained above.
