The sister who broke her fast in due to breastfeeding must repent for missing the fast before the next Ramadan. She must now make up the missed days and offer expiation by feeding a poor person for each day, due to delaying the make-up fast. The child's guardian must offer another expiation if she broke her fast solely out of fear for the child. However, if it was out of fear for herself or for both of them, then nothing more is required of them than what has been mentioned.
