What is the ruling concerning the fluid discharged by a woman when she desires intercourse; does it necessitate ghusl (ritual bathing) or ghusl from janabah (major ritual impurity)?

A woman has the right to sexual intercourse, and it is one of her most emphasized rights upon her husband. If the husband is not remiss in other rights and has special circumstances affecting intercourse, the wife is advised to be patient and seek reward from Allah, and the husband is advised to consult doctors.

Regarding the discharge: If it is manī (seminal fluid) (discharged with desire), ghusl (ritual bath) is obligatory. If it is madhī (pre-seminal fluid), it is obligatory to wash whatever it has touched and renew wudu' (ablution). There is no difference in the ruling between a small and large amount. If the discharge is continuous such that the woman cannot purify herself for prayer, she is in the ruling of one afflicted with urinary incontinence.
