Is money sent to orphan relatives and spent by them considered a sacrifice (udhiyah)?
If the intention is to send money to buy and slaughter a sacrificial animal (udhiyah) on behalf of theer, and to donate its meat, then this is permissible. However, if the intention is to donate the value of the sacrificial animal (its price) instead of slaughtering it, then this is not sufficient as an udhiyah, because what is required is the shedding of blood.
