Is it permissible for a singer to lead the prayer?

If by "singer" is meant someone who professionally performs singing accompanied by musical instruments, then he is a fasiq (transgressor), because this type of singing is Haram (forbidden) by consensus. Prayer behind a fasiq is valid according to the most preponderant opinion, but it is better to pray behind someone else to avoid disagreement and due to the dislikedness of praying behind a fasiq, which is agreed upon among scholars.
