It is permissible to give Zakat to relatives, though it is disliked to allocate all of it exclusively to them. Funds designated for Udhiyah (sacrificial animals) must not be used for anything else, nor can they be borrowed. If there is no deserving recipient for Zakat, it must be returned to its owners or held with documentation that it is Zakat. Depositing money in an interest-bearing bank is not permissible except in cases of extreme necessity. There is no obligation to inform the needy that what is given to them is Zakat.
