Should I obey my mother and refrain from giving money to my father, or should I give him the amount he wants?

A mother's command to her son not to give his father his due in maintenance and righteousness is a command of disobedience, because it leads to estrangement from the father and abandonment of duty. It is not permissible to obey the mother in this matter, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Obedience is only in what is right and proper."
