What is the ruling regarding the actions of a husband who cursed, reviled, spat upon, and beat his wife, and then gave away some of her private property to his brother and his wife without her permission, and then wanted to divorce her because of her objection to that? And does sin fall upon the wife? And what should she do?

What the husband did by giving away some of his wife's money without her consent, cursing her and her father, spitting on her face, and beating her; all of it is forbidden (haram). As for what the wife did by leaving the house, there is no blame on her if it was out of fear of his beating. She has the right to take his matter to court and request a divorce due to harm. We advise her not to seek a divorce and to involve relatives for reconciliation. We advise the husband to fear Allah and to treat her kindly.
