What is the ruling on a wife going to a gynecologist to remove birth stitches and undergo an examination, when there is a female doctor available, her husband has forbidden her from doing so, he knows of his wife's intense jealousy, she has lied to him, and she has gone without his permission?

What the wife did is forbidden for two reasons: The availability of a female doctor who can perform the same task, and it is impermissible for a woman to expose her awrah to a man except in cases of extreme necessity. Also, her husband forbade her from going, and she is obliged to obey him unless he commands her to commit a sin. She must offer sincere repentance, and the husband should accompany his wife if she needs to see a doctor to avoid khalwah (private seclusion).
