Is it permissible for an unmarried Muslim woman to perform Umrah, or is it more befitting to save the money to contribute to marriage expenses?

Many scholars have gone to the extent of saying that performing Umrah once in a lifetime is obligatory if its conditions are met, including the availability of funds. However, if a person fears falling into adultery, and does not have enough money for Umrah and marriage, then marriage takes precedence. Ibn Qudamah said: "If he needs to marry and fears falling into sin, he should prioritize marriage because it is obligatory for him and he cannot do without it, so it is like his expenses. If he does not fear, he should prioritize Hajj because marriage is voluntary." The summary is that if the questioner fears adultery, marriage takes precedence over Umrah; otherwise, Umrah takes precedence over it.
