Is it unlawful to stipulate Hajj or Umrah in the marriage contract before consummation?

The choice of a woman of religion and good character is a praiseworthy matter encouraged by the Sunnah. She is one who combines correct belief, adherence to obligatory duties, and avoidance of forbidden acts. Her perfection increases with her beauty, status, and wealth. The Hadith indicates that religion is the foremost rank, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A woman is married for four things: for her wealth, for her lineage, for her beauty, and for her religion. So choose the religious woman, and you will prosper." It is not a condition for a religious woman that she has performed Hajj or Umrah. Abandoning marriage for this reason may be an exaggeration or a sin if the man needs to marry and fears falling into zina (fornication/adultery). A woman's work is permissible if it meets the Sharia-compliant conditions.
