Are the three days in which the bleeding stops during menstruation considered a period of purity that necessitates Ghusl and prayer, or are they still part of the menstrual period?

The scholars hold two views regarding the three days of purity that interrupt the days of menstruation:

1. The view of the Hanbalis and Malikis: They consider these to be days of purity, meaning the woman is in the status of a pure person. She performs ghusl (definition) (ritual bath), prays, fasts, and her husband is permitted to have intercourse with her. 2. The view of the Shafi'is and Hanafis: They consider these to be days of menstruation, meaning the woman is in the status of a menstruating person.

There is no blame upon a woman for adopting either of these two views.
