What is the explanation of the noble Hadith: "The plague is martyrdom for every Muslim"?

The agreed-upon Hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, states that "the plague is martyrdom." This means that a Muslim who dies from the plague attains the reward of a martyr who was killed in the path of Allah. The Ahadith have stipulated that martyrs and those who die in their beds will dispute concerning those who die from the plague, and Allah will judge that if their wounds resemble the wounds of martyrs, then they are among them. The Sunnah has clarified that the reward of a martyr for one who dies from the plague is attained by whoever remains patient, seeks Allah's reward, and knows that nothing will befall him except what Allah has decreed for him.
