Some scholars have permitted the occurrence of Satanic whispers to prophets and the commission of minor, non-demeaning sins by them, provided these are quickly rectified by swift repentance. They adduce apparent meanings from Quranic verses such as: "And should a suggestion [of evil] come to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah." On the other hand, another group denied Satan's dominion over messengers, even by whispering, interpreting the apparent Quranic meanings differently. They argued that Allah aided the prophets against their demonic companions, leading those companions to embrace Islam. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the infallibility of prophets from Satanic whispers that lead to polytheism, grave sins, or demeaning minor sins, and their infallibility in what they convey from Allah Almighty.
