What is the ruling on selling with price differentiation for the rich and the poor?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Shariah has not specified a particular profit margin, nor is the seller obliged to sell to all people at the same price. Therefore, there is no objection to selling the same goods at different prices. If the intention behind this is to consider people's needs and to facilitate matters for the poor, then it is an act for which one will be rewarded, Allah willing, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "May Allah have mercy upon a man who is lenient when he sells, when he buys, and when he demands his rights."
