What should I do concerning the Ifadah circumambulation (tawaf al-ifadah) in which I started one of its rounds from inside the Hatim, and regarding which scholars' opinions differed between the obligation of repeating it with a dam (sacrificial offering) for intercourse, or a dam only, or nothing due to lack of intent?

The majority of jurists are of the opinion that circumambulation (Tawaf) must encompass the entire Kaaba. Whoever performs Tawaf from inside the Hijr, their Tawaf is not counted, and they must return to Mecca to repeat the Tawaf Al-Ifadah and the Sa'i of Hajj (if they are a Mutamatti'). They are also liable for a blood sacrifice due to conjugal relations. The Hanafis, however, hold that whoever performs most or all of the circuits from inside the Hijr has fulfilled the obligation of Tawaf, and they have the choice between returning to complete the Tawaf and giving charity, or sacrificing a sheep. The preponderant view is that of the majority due to the strength of their evidence, and one who does this remains in their state of Ihram. The Hanafi view is only issued as a fatwa for someone unable to return to Mecca, in which case they must sacrifice a sheep. It is incumbent to learn the rulings of worship before performing it, and to ask people of knowledge.
