Is it necessary to inquire whether the programs for setting up internet service in the new residence are authentic and licensed to ensure the permissibility of using them, or should one adhere to the saying: "Do not ask about things which, if made plain to you, would cause you trouble"?

There is no obligation to inquire about the origin of purchased software programs, and there is no harm in benefiting from them if the buyer does not know whether they are original or pirated, based on the statement of Ibn Uthaymeen: "He who does not know is not held accountable." The noble verse (Ask not about things which, if made manifest to you, would trouble you) is not a Hadith, and the prohibition within it was specific to the time of the revelation. It is not valid to cite it as an argument in our present time; rather, one must inquire about what is lawful and what is unlawful.
