Seeking assistance from someone who performs this is permissible if the area is one she is permitted to look at, such as the shins, forearms, and armpits. As for the 'awrah, it is not permissible to expose it except out of necessity or urgent need. The division of the 'awrah into severe and light does not mean permission to expose the light 'awrah; rather, it means that the sin of exposing the severe 'awrah is greater.
