It is permissible for the girl's father to deputize someone else, such as her guardian, to handle her marriage affairs. A phone authorization with two witnesses or a notarized power of attorney is sufficient. It is valid for the woman's guardian to appoint himself as her guardian and his own representative to conduct the marriage contract. It is not permissible for the guardian to handle her affairs without her father's permission.
