What is the ruling of the Shari'ah on marrying a girl with whom a man has been infatuated since childhood, and he proposed to her but she refused, then after each of them married and divorced, they met again and he proposed marriage to her, but she refused in order to preserve his wife and daughter, knowing that he intends nothing by this marriage but obedience to Allah, and he finds the matter persistent and cannot rid himself of it?

The advice for the questioner who cannot forget a girl he once loved, even though he is now married and has a family: It is best to sever your attachment to that woman, as she previously rejected your marriage proposal. If you insist on marrying her, then approach the matter properly by proposing to her through her family, provided you are capable of being just between two wives and that you do not destroy your existing home. Then, seek Allah's guidance through Istikhara. If the matter proceeds, then praise be to Allah. If it does not, then turn your gaze and heart away from her and be content with what you have.
