Is it permissible to retract forgiveness from those who wronged me and did not apologize, so that I may seek retribution from them on the Day of Judgment?

Forgiving people is a righteous deed for which a servant is rewarded, and one who performs it is not permitted to retract their forgiveness. Thus, whoever forgives someone who wronged them does not have the right to retract this forgiveness. Imam Al-Bukhari dedicated a chapter in his Sahih titled: "If he absolves him from his wrongdoing, there is no going back on it."
