Going into the sea is not forbidden due to the possibility of accidents if safety from them is usually predominant. It can be inferred from the words of al-Nawawi, Ibn Hajar al-Haytami, and Zakariyya al-Ansari in Asna al-Matalib that it is permissible to play dangerous games for those who predominantly expect safety from them, such as sailing on the sea.
