What is the ruling on the prayer of congregants who prostrated at the verse of prostration (Ayat al-Sajdah) then caught up with the Imam in rukoo‘ (bowing), and the congregants who remained prostrating until the Imam completed rukoo‘?
"Whoever catches the Imam in bowing, after his mistake, then his prayer is valid. As for whoever remains prostrating until the Imam rises from bowing, if he then bows and completes his prayer, his prayer is valid. But if he does not bow, he must make up that unit of prayer as long as he is still in the prayer or shortly after it. If the interval is long, he must repeat the entire prayer."
