Does one become an infidel by doubting the infidelity of the People of the Book, especially if this doubt stems from forgetting the proofs?

Doubting the disbelief of Jews and Christians is one of the nullifiers of Islam, by the consensus of scholars, because it entails abandoning belief in the definitive texts that indicate their disbelief. Scholars have unanimously agreed on declaring as disbeliever anyone who rejects a clear Quranic text, or singles out a hadith whose transmission is unanimously agreed upon and definitively established, or anyone who does not declare as disbeliever those who follow a religion other than that of the Muslims, or hesitates concerning them, or doubts, or validates their religion. Nevertheless, a specific Muslim who doubts their disbelief is not ruled to be an apostate disbeliever, as they may be excused due to ignorance or a misconception.
