What is the ruling of the Sharia regarding a misunderstanding between a son and his father concerning financial assistance, given that the son requests help from his father, who possesses abundant wealth, while the son suffers from worldly problems?

If the son is an adult, capable of earning, not mentally incapacitated, and not engaged in seeking knowledge that is an individual or communal obligation, then his maintenance is not incumbent upon his father. However, it is recommended for the father to treat him kindly and give him charity. It is not permissible for the son to be disobedient to his father or to mistreat him due to his shortfall in providing maintenance.
