Is selling or renting used books prohibited due to intellectual property rights or copyright and distribution rights?

There is no objection to coloring and decorating the Mushaf (copy of the Qur’an) from the inside. The owner of the book may dispose of his owned copy as he wishes, provided these dispositions are lawful. What is prohibited is infringing on intellectual property rights, such as academic theft or printing without the permission of the rights holder.
